The Hadeca Racing team started its karting season last weekend (April 6-7). The team participated in the second round of the Copa Catalana de KDDs de Karting series, which happened on April 6-7 at the Circuito Internacional de Zuera karting track.
The competition was run on a separate karting track that is part of the Zuera International Circuit complex. The race circuit is 1100 meters length, has 15 turns (9 right and 6 left). Hadeca Racing team started with four drivers in two different categories – Oleksandr Dobik and Glib Protasov in DD2 category (simplified version based on KZ2 class kart, with 125 cc water-cooled two-stroke engines), Alisa Protasova and Ivan Dobik in Mini category (more correctly, in Mini 60 Agua class, with 60 cc water-cooled two-stroke engines).
All four riders started in free practice, but later Oleksandr Dobik stopped participating due to a minor injury. At the results of qualifying Glib Protasov was third in DD2, Ivan Dobik and Alisa Protasova were second and fourth in Mini 60 Agua.
The races were different for all drivers. Glib Protasov in both races regularly finished third in DD2 category, Alisa Protasova twice became fourth in Mini 60 Agua class. The most unpredictable were the races for Ivan Dobik. In the first race he was turned around several times, as a result of which he finished at the end of the group. In the second race he started from the last position, but after a successful attack he finished fifth in the overall Mini category (joint for Mini 60 Agua and Mini 85 Aire) and second in the Mini 60 Agua class!
