This year the calendar of the international Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica series is divided into two parts – first two rounds in Portugal (at Autódromo do Estoril and Autódromo Internacional do Algarve), then four rounds in Spain.

The Spanish part of the season opens with the third round of the series, which is scheduled for July 26-28 at the MotorLand Aragón race track (its other name is Circuito de Alcañiz). This is one of the new racing tracks in Europe – its construction began in 2005, and the first competitions took place on it in September 2009.

The main feature of this track is the movement in the opposite direction. At most European circuits the race goes clockwise, but at the Circuito de Alcañiz the driving direction is counter-clockwise. To this can add a combination of various elements of the track – short and long straights, high-speed turns, several tight and slow turns. The length of the race lap (in the FIA Grand Prix Circuit configuration) is 5345 m.
