Preparations for the third round of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica have been really intensive. First, two test sessions (called Test Colectivo) took place on Friday, each lasting an hour. And on Saturday morning and afternoon there were two Free practice sessions – 40 minutes each. That is, the participants got almost 3.5 hours of work on the race circuit for training and setting up the racing vehicles.
On the first free practice the Ukrainian drivers of Hadeca Racing drivers Yury Protasov and Oleksandr Dobik showed sixth and seventh times (2:02.306 and 2:02.677). Protasov was fourth in Am class, while Dobik was fastest in GD class. In the second free practice Protasov had the second best result (2:01.277) in both the overall and Am class. Meanwhile, Dobik finished tenth overall with 2:04.458 and was again the fastest in GD class.
As a result of qualifying Yury Protasov (2:02.124) got the fifth starting position in Race 1, which will be held tonight. Oleksandr Dobik (2:03.634) qualified tenth overall and was first in the GD class. Unfortunately, this is not the first time there has been confusion in the results with Protasov, who is registered in the Am class, but he is periodically sent to the ProAm class.
