This weekend, September 14-15, is the start of the second half of the season in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ib\u00e9rica. Round four of the six scheduled rounds will happen in Valencia, at the relatively new Circuit Ricardo Tormo race track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This circuit belongs to the category of new racing tracks – it was built in 1999 and is now celebrating its 25th anniversary. It is better known as Circuit Ricardo Tormo, but also has other names – Circuit de Valencia or the long official name Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An interesting fact is that for the second time in a row, the participants of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ib\u00e9rica will start on a track with an unfamiliar direction of travel. While most tracks in Europe run clockwise, the previous round at Circuito de Alca\u00f1iz and the upcoming round at Circuit Ricardo Tormo will be run counterclockwise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The configuration of the race track is quite varied – many long and short straights, combined with fast and slow turns, total lap length 4005 meters. The length of the start-finish straight exceeds 850 meters. The lap record for Porsche Carrera Cup cars is 1:33.949 (average speed 153.466 km\/h).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
