Now, ahead of the sixth and final round of the 2024 Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica, we can assess the Hadeca Racing team’s results and its perspective in the fight for the title or podium at the end of the season. In a previous publication, we explained all the possible classifications within the series – depending on the race car group and the status of the driver.
There are three important factors to consider when assessing a driver’s chances of a title or podium at the end of the season. Firstly, the series consists of 6 rounds with a total of 12 races. Secondly, only those drivers who have raced in the last two races of the season (i.e. both races of the final round) qualify for the final classification at the end of the season. Third, the top 10 results out of 12 go into the final classification at the end of the season.
Now the Hadeca Racing team is represented by three drivers – Ukrainians Yury Protasov and Oleksandr Dobik, Colombian Juan Pablo Vega. All three are nominated in Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica – Group 992 – Cup for drivers. In addition, they participate in two separate classes – Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica – Group 992 – Class AM – Trophy for drivers (Yury Protasov, Juan Pablo Vega) and Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica – Group 992 – Class GD – Trophy for drivers (Oleksandr Dobik).
Oleksandr Dobik was the only participant in Group 992 – Class GD – Trophy for drivers throughout the season, so he didn’t get any points. But he won eight races out of ten in the unofficial GD class overall!
Yury Protasov and Juan Pablo Vega before the final round are in second and third positions in Group 992 – Class AM – Trophy for drivers. Both are also title contenders in this classification.
